Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to digitally present this beautiful 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle. Guys let's jump right in on this one. There are more SS Camaro's and Chevelle's today than ever produced. How is that possible? Because many are fake and some are very well done. In 1969, GM changed how and what VIN numbers disclosed. "13637" does NOT mean this Chevelle is or is not a true SS for the '69 models. At the bottom of the cowl tag you will find the mythical, "L." Depending on who you listen too, some Chevy guys state for 1969, this indicates an authentic Super Sport while others disagree. Look gents here's the bottom line, unless you have the original window sticker or build sheet there's no way to prove a '69 SS is genuine so buyer beware. The consignor believes it is, but we can't verify the claim. That said, let's stick to what we know. This is a true "65" Olympic Gold car with the correct black interior and when combined with a black vinyl top creates an eye catching combination. Under the hood you'll find legendary big block Chevy power (casting number 3989854 or 3939854 it's hard to tell). At some point, the powerplant has been in the hands of a machine shop as the vin number is missing from the front pad, so we don't know if this is the original engine. Out back, a 4speed transmission and 12-bolt rear differential work in harmony to put the power and torque to the ground. This is a very nice driver quality car, and not a trailer Queen, that's been well cared for. This one puts the muscle in muscle car.
