The Blazer was created as a direct response to the wildly popular Bronco. Both cars were the model for a genially simple concept: a short wheelbase, a design you could draw with a ruler, a roof you took off in summer as if you were firing a confetti cannon, and four-wheel drive that turned Mount Everest into a molehill.

Under the bonnet was a nearly six milk carton eight-cylinder. As befits the American standard, that engine did not need to exert excessive effort. With 165 hp, merging at the McDrive is no problem at all, but on the Autobahn you'd better not be in a hurry.

In 2016, this Blazer was fully restored and made more beautiful than a sunset in Montana. New paint, a technical overhaul and an engine fitted with Edelbrock goodies. Think valve covers and a carburettor that not only perform better, but also look like they're straight out of a Hot Wheels dream. Given the petrol consumption, tears were springing to the previous owner's eyes, so he decided to indulge himself with an LPG installation. The end result? A machine in top form, all ready for any adventure.

No buttons, no screens-just you, an engine and an endless horizon. This is what riding once meant. Will we see you soon?
