This truck is a wonderful example of how things used to be built to last. I bought this as a project truck and I just never ended up getting to it. The lesson I learned is to never put your work/work next to your play/work.
I bought it a few years ago from the son of the original owner. The only things that were modified were the converted alternator and a floor shifter; both seem to be acceptable changes. The body has some rust behind the front fenders and the passenger floorboard; both to be expected. The rest of the truck is just gonna need that restoration touch. It is the original engine, a 230 Straight 6 with a single barrel carb. I have not cleaned the gas tank, so I am using the large beer bottle for gas, to run it. I also have not bled the brakes, but they hold pressure. The tires are not great but hold air. It is the perfect blank canvas for the person with a dream.
