Description

Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to offer this stunning 1978 Chevrolet C10 Big 10 Short Wheelbase pickup, a professionally restored and heavily upgraded square-body that combines classic truck styling with modern LS power, premium comfort, and show-quality detail. With its aggressive stance, desirable short-bed configuration, and extensive body-off restoration, this C10 is built to impress whether cruising the streets, attending shows, or enjoying weekend drives. Under the hood is a potent LS-swapped 5.3L Gen IV V8 featuring a 24x reluctor wheel stock bottom end and an impressive list of upgrades. Highlights include a Melling 0295 oil pump, 3-bolt cam conversion, DOD/VVT delete, new timing chain, HD LS7 lifters, stock rockers with bronze trunnions, Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Stage 1 243-casting cylinder heads, a custom camshaft, Edelbrock Victor Jr intake, Edelbrock 4150 throttle body, Siemens Deka 80 lb injectors, NGK plugs, and Speed Engineering long-tube headers. Fuel delivery is handled by an Aeromotive 340 in-tank pump with Corvette filter/regulator, while a Champion Cooling radiator with upgraded fan keeps temperatures in check. A professional tune ensures optimal performance. The engine is backed by a Dooley-built 4L80E automatic transmission, recently rebuilt in August 2025, paired with a new Hughes Performance 2800 stall converter. Out back is a sturdy 12-bolt rear end with 4.11 gears and Eaton differential, providing the drivetrain with serious power handling capability while remaining street-friendly. The body-off restoration included wire brushing and painting the frame, with virtually everything underneath replaced or renewed, including suspension components, upper and lower control arms, fuel tank, brake system, lines, and hoses. The truck rides on striking Corsart wheels measuring 22x8.5 inches up front and 22x12 inches in the rear, wrapped in 265/30R22 front tires and massive 335/25R22 rear tires for an unforgettable stance. Inside, the cabin has been transformed with a full TMI custom interior featuring new seats, door panels, headliner, dash pad, and carpet. SoundSkins sound deadening creates a refined ride, while NuRelics power windows, remote door locks, Dakota Digital gauges, a new steering wheel, and cold New Vintage Air conditioning add modern comfort and convenience. A premium stereo system with Hertz and Rockford Fosgate components and a custom enclosure completes the package. This 1978 Chevrolet C10 Big 10 SWB is the perfect mix of classic square-body style, modern performance, and premium upgrades—an ideal truck for the enthusiast seeking a turnkey custom that stands above the rest.
