Description

Corvette Sting Ray C2 Split Window for saleThe Corvette Split Window must be the holy grail of American cars from the sixties. Certainly, in my opinion, one of the best-looking cars from that era. Designed by Bill Mitchell together with Larry Shinoda, it was produced for only one year.Exterior: The striking Sebring Silver paint is in near-perfect condition. As you can see in the pictures, this car is built for both race and road use. A perfect set of bumpers is also included with the car, along with a set of steel rims with hubcaps, fitted with diagonal tires which is ideal if you prefer a more stock look and feel. Some authentic stickers from its racing days can be seen on one of the split windows. The Corvette also comes with an additional set of fixed headlights.A lot of work has been done on the car's aesthetics to make it resemble an authentic Corvette race car from the sixties. For example, note the holes between the taillights in the rear, designed to release trapped air coming from underneath the car.Top of FormBottom of FormInterior: Inside the Corvette C2, there is a proper roll cage for your safety, equipped with serious racing seat belts. Keep in mind, this is a very fast car! The seats are finished in beautiful black leather, and everything else inside is in good order. Most of the interior was renewed in 2008. The car has the original miles speedometer and km/h stickers on the outside. The seats are comfortable and can also accommodate tall drivers. The dashboard has been signed by Peter Brock. He was the youngest designer ever hired by GM Styling. In 1957, he penned what would become the Corvette Stingray. Peter Brock later also designed the Cobra Daytona Coupe.Engine and Mechanics: The most important thing is to be able to stop this thing, and the brakes are drilled drum brakes with cooling blades, just like when these cars were racing. The removal of the bumpers and most of the exhaust system has shaved off a few hundred kilos, and the FIA documents state the car weighs 1,227 kg. Engine: 350 Long block New M21 gearbox (2016) Power is estimated at around 450 hp History: This Corvette C2 Split Window race or fast road car was sold new in the USA and came to Sweden as early as 1989. It has had four private owners over the years and a few dealers. The documentation for this car is absolutely incredible -- a thick binder with invoices dating all the way back to its time in America. Included in the documentation are several older original titles from Florida and other states. So, one should be able to register the car again in the USA without having to pay any taxes. If you have a classic car that you would like to sell please let us know here.
