Description

The 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a timeless classic that makes the hearts of car enthusiasts beat faster. Chevrolet introduced the Corvette in 1953 as a two-seat sports car, a bold move for a brand that until then was known primarily for family cars. With its striking fiberglass body designed by Harley Earl and reliable GM engineering, the Corvette put itself on the map. The rest is history. Rightly one of the greatest American icons. In 1963, the all-new Sting Ray was introduced, complete with a new ladder-type chassis. For the first time, a Gran Turismo coupé was also available. Corvette development continued slowly but steadily, marked by annual facelifts and some major technical improvements. In 1965 came the long-awaited disc brakes all around, which was a major advancement for handling. The standard 327ci (5.4 liter) V8 engine with 250 horsepower was joined by the optional 396ci (6.5 liter) Big Block, which was replaced by the even more powerful 427ci engine in 1966.This particular 1964 example, restored in the past in the color Daytona Blue with a black interior, is a truly super nice Corvette ready for many enjoyable drives. This Chevrolet is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and has powerful brakes. The Corvette has undergone restoration and overhaul work in the past and this work was carried out with an eye for original factory details, which emphasizes the authenticity of this Corvette. The car has driven around Norway for more than ten years and has been maintained there with care and attention. There is extensive documentation available of all maintenance work since 2012, along with a thick set of invoices, which attests to the care and attention that has been given to this car.On entering this Corvette, one is struck by how neat the bodywork is and how nice the paint looks. The details, such as the emblems and chrome rims, are in excellent condition and add to the beautiful look of the car. The underside of the car is also in very clean condition, confirming a good maintenance history. The soft top and windows are in great condition, which adds to the overall nice appearance. In the interior, this Corvette is also very nice. The upholstery is in very good condition, with beautiful carpets and an original Delco radio. The driving experience is unëvaard: the car shifts smoothly, the clutch feels good and the brakes work perfectly. The steering is tight and precise, providing a sporty driving experience. Thanks to the extensive maintenance performed over the past few years, the new owner will benefit from a car that is in good and beautiful condition. This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a stunning classic ready for many carefree miles and unforgettable drives. Are you interested in this special Corvette? Please contact us today.
