Hailed as the first collectible Corvette from the factory, the 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car was one of the first new vehicles with large mark ups over sticker price due to the limited production run. Only 6,502 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Corvettes were produced in 1978, and this one is a highly optioned, incredibly clean example with low original miles.

These cars were even given a special VIN sequence, which had never been done before by Chevrolet. 1978 was also the 25th Anniversary for the Corvette, making this a very special year and car. It would be a great addition to any collection of Pace Cars, Corvettes, or rare classic cars. Of course it is finished in the beautiful black and silver two tone paint combo with red accent stripes on the body and wheels to tie it all together, as well as the Official Pace Car door decals! Limited to pace cars only, this one features distinctive front air dams and rear spoiler to give them an even more aggressive appearance.

The long list of options include the more powerful L82 engine, power windows, power locks, tilt steering, AM/FM radio, mirrored t-tops, leather interior, alloy wheels, radial tires, power steering, A/C, and 4-wheel power disc brakes. The L82 engine was rated at 220 horsepower and is backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. Best of all this C3 runs and drives like a dream because it has only traveled just over 14,000 miles since new as documented by the title.

Open the doors and you will see a nice honest original silver interior that appears to be just as it left the factory! Power steering, power brakes, power windows, and power door locks make this baby feel like a luxury car with the heart of a sports car. Pop the T-Tops off and feel the wind in your hair, or seal her up and put the nice cold blowing factory air conditioning or heat on and set your desired temperature. This is a ton of collector car for the money and certainly will not last long! Please call us soon before it is too late!
