The vehicle was delivered brand new by a Viennese GM dealer in 1981. It has been part of Artur M. Riekmann's private vehicle collection for 40 years and is in pristine original condition. The only concession to usability was the replacement of the original Good Year Eagle GT tires from 1980, which were fitted to the vehicle until April 2012. These were replaced with new 255-60-15 White Letter tires for safety reasons, although the tread depth was still more than sufficient. The original exhaust system with the stamped original spare part numbers is also still on the vehicle and is in good condition!
The particularly well-maintained vehicle was always garaged, was serviced every year according to factory specifications and was only used very little in fair weather, just like all the other 12 cars, which were registered on four different license plates at the same time.
