This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Supercar Fest 2026 on Saturday, 16th May, at Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN.Based on a 2022 MAN TGE 3.180 4x4 Automatic, this highly individual build was purchased new by the current owner on 1 March 2022 with a clear and carefully considered brief. The owner is a committed adventurer, philanthropist, documentary and filmmaker, music enthusiast, and dedicated family man. He aimed to create a capable, go-anywhere vehicle that offers the comfort and warmth of a cabin-like interior, avoiding the more clinical feel often associated with modern camper conversions. The vehicle was entrusted to Vans and Recreation, where Luke Harper worked closely with the owner to deliver a bespoke conversion tailored to those specifications. Additional suspension work was carried out by VolksTrek of Aberystwyth to enhance off-road capability. The TGE’s 4x4 system, combined with upgraded suspension and off-road tyres, supports remote travel. A front-mounted snorkel improves air intake and allows traversing more challenging terrain. The result is a distinctive and carefully considered example, known as “The Adventurer. ”The conversion emphasizes usability and adaptability. The interior features restored wood, creating a warm, chalet-inspired environment reminiscent of a compact cabin. The living and sleeping area includes a pull-out bed that extends to a king-size arrangement, with additional sleeping options via a lowering table system. A roof-mounted tent box expands capacity, allowing the vehicle to accommodate up to five occupants. Practicality has been a key focus. In addition to the two front seats, integrated seating within the conversion allows safe travel with family or guests. Storage solutions include internal compartments and an external rear locker suitable for wet or outdoor equipment, helping to keep the interior clean and dry. Access to the roof is via a side ladder, designed as an extension of the living space. The roof features integrated deck chairs and an umbrella provision, transforming the upper section into a relaxation area. External speakers support outdoor use at campsites or festivals. A portable projection system inside the cabin offers a cinema-style experience, emphasizing comfort and entertainment during extended stays. The onboard kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob, microwave, toaster, and sink, all neatly integrated to maximize space. Solar panels mounted on the roof contribute to off-grid capability, supporting extended periods away from traditional hook-ups. Bike racks are also fitted. The vehicle comes with a comprehensive file detailing its build, including compliance documentation. Due to its size and kerb weight, it is classified as a medium-sized vehicle (3,500kg to 7,500kg), requiring a C1 license to drive. It is understood that many drivers with historic license rights already hold this entitlement, or it can be obtained separately if needed. The base vehicle cost nearly £60,000, with conversion works bringing the total to almost £150,000, highlighting the bespoke nature of this project. Compared to more conventional options often exceeding £100,000, this vehicle offers a unique and highly customized solution for adventurous travel.
