Description

The Alfa Romeo Spider (105/115 series) is a roadster built from 1966 to 1993. Based on the Giulia, the Spider was designed by Italian design firm Pinninfarina. The first series of Spiders (1966-1969) went by simply as the Alfa Romeo Spider 1600. With the introduction of the Alfa Romeo 1750 line in 1968, the Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce also entered the market (‘Veloce’ is Italian for ‘fast’).The first major update in terms of exterior design took place in late 1969 with the presentation of the Series 2 (1969-1982/83). The extended rounded rear of the 1750 Spider Veloce was restyled to a more conventional flattened rear (the so-called Coda Tronca). Trunk space was improved as a result. In 1971 the displacement was increased to 1962 cc and the name changed to 2000 Spider Veloce. Four years later, this model was equipped with 2 additional seats, creating a 2+2 four-seater. Over 38,000 examples of the Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce were made. The Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce at Classic Park is from 1981 and is a sought-after 2000 version with the elegant chrome bumpers.
