Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Supercar Fest 2026 on Saturday, May 16th, at Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN.

Few cars capture the spirit of 1950s Italian motoring quite like the Giulietta Spider. Its graceful Pininfarina lines embody an era when style and substance existed in perfect harmony. Presented in Alfa Romeo Red with a contrasting black interior and hood, this example offers a timeless color combination that is both sophisticated and admired.

Cherished within the same ownership for approximately 45 years, this Spider has a story of foresight, dedication, and passion. Acquired in 1981 as a rolling project, the current owner recognized the inherent quality of the shell and the opportunity it presented. After a period in storage, a comprehensive restoration began in 1989, undertaken with meticulous attention to detail. The body was rebuilt to an exceptional standard, with the underside finished with the same care as the exterior surfaces.

Mechanically, the car was fully and sympathetically overhauled. It features a beautifully rebuilt 1,600cc all-alloy twin-cam engine, delivering the marque’s signature blend of eagerness and refinement. This is paired with a fully refurbished 5-speed gearbox, enhancing flexibility and long-distance usability. The suspension, braking system, and supporting components were all restored to match, ensuring a dependable and rewarding driving experience.

Completed around three decades ago, the restoration has matured gracefully and has been regularly used across the UK and Europe. The car has earned recognition on the concours circuit, including honors within the Alfa Romeo Owners Club Master Class, demonstrating its quality and presentation.

Today, this Giulietta Spider remains in outstanding condition, a beautifully sorted and highly usable example that continues to impress. A true driver’s classic with show credentials, it invites close inspection and promises immense enjoyment for its next owner.
