--Presented in 1969 at the Turin motor show, the second series of the Duetto was characterized by the "cut tail," in deference to the aerodynamic theories advocated by Professor Kamm, for less resistance determined by the air vortices that suddenly detached due to the truncated tail. Bumpers were modified accordingly, in stainless steel and with protective rubber profile, headlamp covers remained standard on the 1750 and later on the 2000, until about 1980, but were never adopted on the 1300/1600 junior, as well as a greater windshield angle, benefiting design and aerodynamics. The canvas soft top was also modified extensively, with attachments completely inside the body, for greater waterproofing and ease of use. The length dropped from 4,250 mm. to 4,120 mm.
The Spider Veloce , heir to the 1968 "cuttlebone" shaped one, had new interiors with a center console more related to 1970s sports car fashion, and also new were the tachometer and odometer contained in two eyelids instead of one like the previous version, flush body handles at the doors defined aerodynamic . In 1971 it was first joined by the fast 2000 Spider version, with a 2000 cm3 engine identical to the sedan and GT versions, 132 hp. All "1750" versions left the scene for good in 1972 replaced by the new "2000" range.
