Description

Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT for sale Throughout Alfa Romeo's illustrious history, numerous Giulia models have been introduced, making it challenging to keep track of them all. Among these, the Giulia Sprint GT, often referred to as the "stepnose" or the Bertone coupe, stands out. This iconic model was designed by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro when he was just 22 years old.Exterior: The Alfa Romeo 1600 Giulia Sprint GT, repainted in 2017 in its original “Medium Cobalt Blue” hue, remains visually stunning. It retains the original steel wheels, now equipped with new tires. The chrome details are in excellent condition, with only minor pitting on the grille. All body panels are perfectly aligned, and the doors operate smoothly. The glass is clear, and all rubber components have been replaced with new ones.Interior: The interior of this Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT exudes simplicity and elegance. The dashboard has been meticulously repainted in a special grey to closely replicate the original finish. The beautifully crafted round dials and the impeccable steering wheel create an inviting ambiance, making you want to sit in the car even when stationary. The cabin has been restored to original specifications using authentic materials, with real leather now replacing the previous vinyl—a tasteful upgrade that even purists can appreciate. For safety, seatbelts are installed both front and rear. The car also features new carpets throughout, including in the trunk, where the original spare wheel and jack are housed.Engine and Technical: Between 2015 and 2018, this Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 1600 underwent a comprehensive restoration, during which every component was meticulously inspected and replaced as needed after 80,000 kilometers of travel. Major restorative work included: Rebuilding the cylinder head with new valves and valve guides. Installing new piston rings, bearings, and timing chains. Rebuilding the starter and adding a new AC alternator (the original has been preserved). Rebuilding the distributor with an Ignitor system. Refurbishing the fuel pump and carburetors. Rebuilding the gearbox and fitting it with a new clutch, bearing, and doughnut. Installing a new exhaust system and fittings. Fitting new springs and Koni classic shocks. Replacing the sway bar, steering joints, ball joints, and rubber components front and rear. Replacing the driveshaft bearing and rubber. Rebuilding the steering box and adding a new steering arm. Replacing the wheel bearings. Completely overhauling the brake system, retaining the original Dunlop brakes. Since the restoration, the Giulia Sprint GT has been driven approximately 5,000 kilometers and now offers a delightful driving experience, with everything functioning perfectly.History: This Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT boasts a remarkable history: The first owner, Mr. Asplund, now 93 years old, acquired the car in 1966 and kept it until 2015. It was stored in a dry environment from 1983 until 2018 when it returned to the road. The second owner undertook the stunning restoration and sold it to us in 2024. The car has traveled a total of 85,000 kilometers, a mileage verified by inspection documents. It is a matching numbers car and retains its original colors. This Giulia Sprint GT was a significant model for Alfa Romeo. Despite its compact size, it commanded a premium price back in 1966, with a cost only 200 pounds less than a Jaguar E-type.If you live in Sweden and would like to sell your classic Alfa Romeo, please let us know here.
