Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026 on Saturday the 29th of August and Sunday the 30th of August at The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.

First registered in 1967 and originally supplied by Steels of Bristol Ltd., this Daimler 2.5 V8 is presented in elegant Opalescent Silver Grey with a red leather interior.

Developed following Jaguar's acquisition of Daimler, the 2.5 V8 combined the acclaimed Mk2 bodyshell with Edward Turner's smooth and distinctive 2,548cc hemispherical-head V8 engine.

The car features four-wheel disc brakes, independent front suspension, and a Panhard rod-located live rear axle. The 140bhp V8 offered refined performance with a top speed of approximately 115mph.

The interior appears to retain much of its original trim, aside from what is believed to be a replacement headlining, and has developed a lovely period patina throughout.

It is accompanied by its original service book and a history file containing historic MOT certificates dating back to the late 1970s.

Recent maintenance includes removal and cleaning of the fuel tank, flushing of the fuel system, and attention to the front braking system.

The car displays just over 40,000 miles at the time of cataloguing.

It is MOT exempt due to its historic vehicle status, with the last MOT expiring in June 2026 following very little use since.

A charming and increasingly sought-after British sporting saloon, offering elegant styling, a wonderfully smooth V8 engine, and exceptional value in today's classic car market.
