Daimler, then part of the Jaguar group, introduced the SP250 in 1959 as a direct competitor to the Triumph TR and Austin-Healey, but with the advantage of its own V8 engine.
The 2,548 cc V8, fitted with two SU carburetors, delivers 140 hp and gives the Dart a captivating character. Production was limited to just 2,646 examples, of which only 1,198 were left-hand drive, making this car an absolute rarity.
This particular example, registered on April 25, 1962, has a fascinating history. It originally came from the United States and was displayed in a museum for several years. The car has been restored, during which the wiring was largely renewed, the exhaust replaced, and the chassis received a new protective layer of black bitumen.
The bodywork features a steel chassis with a polyester body, repainted in deep black. The paint has a beautiful, homogeneous sheen, highlighting the sleek body panels.
