The story of the Datsun 240Z begins in 1969 under another brand name: Nissan. In fact, that brand enters the market with the Fairlady Z, a compact and relatively affordable sporty sedan. A year later, the brand presents the car in America as the Datsun 240Z, for practically the same price as the MGB GT. The 240Z, later referred to as 260Z and 280Z because of other engines, became a Japanese icon. And such an icon we now have in our showroom. This poison green 240Z you see here splashes off the screen. So it will not surprise you when we say that this Japanese sports car has been completely restored. The restoration includes about 1,800 hours of work in tracked hours alone and that is reflected in the condition of the coupé. As if the green paint did not provide enough eye-catching value, a set of beloved 15” Rota wheels have been mounted. The paint is in fantastic condition and has been given a Meguiars paint sealant. Fit of the sheet metal? With a Japanese car, we really don't even need to emphasize that: that's fine! The interior of the Datsun is of course included in the restoration, so it also ín the Datsun looks beautiful all. The black faux leather seats, of course, have new upholstery. The same goes for the carpets and door panels. Special attention has been paid to the dashboard, which, like the center tunnel, features a special "flocking" technique. A special treatment method often used in car and rally racing to counteract annoying glare. All gauges and controls function as they should.Under the hood a beautifully restored and overhauled 2.4-liter six-cylinder inline engine with overhead camshaft. This engine is not only in perfect technical condition but is also extremely beautiful to look at. Not only has the car recently had its maintenance, the valves, pistons, gaskets and much more have been renewed. Now, with such a solid Japanese, the hood will not need to be opened very often, but it is a nice knowledge that the engine looks so fresh. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission that shifts smoothly and accurately. A very special classic, which can count on more and more appreciation. That fact, combined with the exterior and technical condition, makes this 240Z a fantastic classic sports car for the next owner.
