Runs well in both engine and gearbox. Started and driven in June 2025. However, since it has been off the road since 1998, it will require a technical inspection and check-up before being put back into regular use.
The DKW Munga is a German military vehicle manufactured by Auto Union (DKW) in Ingolstadt between 1956 and 1968. It features four-wheel drive. Deliveries to the Bundeswehr began in November 1956, but the vehicle was also supplied to the police and Bundesgrenzschutz. The Munga was additionally sold to the Dutch army and was used by the British and French armies in West Berlin.
This example, according to our research, is an F91/4 from the Bundeswehr, built to NATO standards with a 24V electrical system. The engine has been replaced with a four-stroke unit, most likely a Volvo B14 engine. See pictures for more details.
