Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this rare 1937 Dodge D5, technically known as a Convertible Coupe, with fixed windshield, roll up windows in the doors and a rumble seat instead of a trunk.
With the 115-inch chassis, 3,057 pounds, long hood, ample cockpit and subtly curving rear body line the proportions are sleek, long and low. The body is basically stock incorporating the 30's Classic Deco Style with ample chrome and stainless trim. The body is straight with great panel gaps and expertly applied Cherry Red paint. The interior is one of the strongest points of the car done in a stunning tan leather on the seats and door panels; the design and application have been done to very high standards by a master craftsman. The convertible top mechanism has lacquered wood bows and chrome folding bars with the top cover done in matching dark tan cloth material with a glass back window. This car is show ready and a collector's item with only 1,345 ever built and it still has its original numbers matching drive train. This straight 6 cylinder and manual transmission have only 85k actual miles with only 4 owners since new. Originally with a sticker price of $910 back in 1937, it is only going to become more and more valuable as the few left become more difficult to find.
Other options include, modern vintage look gauges, leather interior, chrome wheel rings, tail lamps, white walls, AM radio, and so on! This car is one to climb into and go anywhere with no hesitation. Do not miss out on the chance to own such a beautiful and rare convertible.
