It reads almost like a fairy tale, the story of Dutchman Joop Donkervoort who started his own car company in 1978 and has managed to build the Donkervoort brand into an iconic, worldwide renowned, Dutch car brand. From the beginning, Donkervoort focused on lightning-fast two-seater sports cars. From 1993, these were built in the famous D8 version, which from 1999 were equipped with 1.8 liter turbo engines from Audi. These four-cylinder twenty-valve engines had 150 hp as standard, but Donkervoort also supplied tuned versions with 180 hp. The Donkervoort at Classic Park is one such’n tuned D8 with 180 hp. The sprint to 100 km/h goes in just 5.0 seconds and the car can go on to 210 km/h.The Donkervoort D8 is a car made primarily for driving enthusiasts. The gear shifting, the steering, everything is geared towards driving pleasure which puts a smile on the face as standard. The sporty leather/alcantara interior and Willands seat belts certainly contribute to that. This D8 has averaged less than 2000 kilometers per year and has a nice low mileage with 35,124 km on the odometer. The car was delivered new in France in 2001 and is currently registered in the Netherlands. The Donkervoort is in very good condition.
