It was a greatly improved car from its predecessor, making it ééone of Donkervoort's best known and successful models. This example was built in 1990 and was owned by Donkervoort himself until 1999, who subsequently made some improvements to the car. In fact, this was a demo car of Donkervoort. In 1999, the car came into the possession of the second and current owner, who thus cherished the car for 26 years. A car that has always been driven with love and passion, and therefore kept in a neat condition. This is also evident from the valuation report from April 2025, in which the car earns a quality designation of ‘Condition 2+’ with a value of € 42,500,-. The car also includes power studies.EXTERIORThe car is finished in dark blue with a red interior, which contrasts very nicely. The paintwork is still clean and no signs of rust or damage are found. The chrome work, lights and windows are also in clean condition: the prominent stainless steel exhaust in which the name of the model is engraved shines exceptionally nicely. The 5-spoke 14” alloy wheels are also in very clean condition. Characteristic features are the robust roll bar and the spare wheel at the rear. INTERIORThe interior is also in clean condition with no damage, but only slight signs of use on the leather-covered seats. The leather-clad dashboard houses 4 centrally located counters, 7 centrally located buttons and two large counters placed right in front of the driver. Clear and no excess as befits the Donkervoort motto: "No Compromise". The sofftop, tonneau cover, doors, carpet set and the rest of the interior: everything is in clean and undamaged condition. A radio/CD player with speakers are mounted behind the front seats.TECHNICALUnder the hood resides a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine sourced from Ford. It produces 110 hp according to the factory specification, but according to a power printout from 2008, this engine produces a whopping 142 hp. At Speedcentre Geldermalsen, the car was recalibrated at the time. Combined with a weight of 625 kg, this makes the car seriously fast, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds. The car drives excellent and the engine is mated to a well-shifted 5-speed transmission. The Yokohama tires are still in great condition. ALGEMENTThe story of Donkervoort begins in 1965, when Joop Donkervoort on his way home from school sees a Lotus 7 and becomes fascinated by it. The dream to develop a better sports car eventually led officially to the establishment of the car brand in 1978 and the production of the first model: the S7. The first cars were built in a shed behind his house, but in 1983 production was scaled up with the move to a factory in Loosdrecht. In 1980, the S8 was unveiled: a more fully developed car with a more powerful engine and better handling, which led to great success. Many automotive journalists praised the model and even in the United Kingdom they called the model “The best Seven ever”. The driving characteristics were formidable and attention was also paid to safety, notably with a dual braking system and two aluminum fuel tanks mounted in front of the rear axle. Over the years, Donkervoort continued to develop, even achieving a Nürburgring record in 2004. To this day, Donkervoort is still fully active, including the impressive F22 that has been built since 2022.
