Description

As with many of these extraordinary fifties sports cars, this Ace has left a very interesting life indeed

Initially delivered here in the UK she later moved home to the good old US of A later on in the fifties where she underwent an engine transplant

So the original Bristol engine was ditched in favour of more power and much more torque in the form of a small block V8 - much as would happen later in the early sixties by Carol Shelby

Anyhow this pretty little thing was obviously am absolute flier and she was seen in and around the circuits in the sixties where her light weight and nimble handling were taken advantage of by the powerful engine set up

She came back to the UK shores in the late 1990's whereupon she was in a sad state - as often to be seen with retired racing cars

Fortunately she was in the most capable of hands and found herself being striped to the base bones and built back up again as she was in 1958

ie Fitted with the correct type Bristol 100B2 engine, although not the one she with which left factory

All other items are correct and Bristol Fashion, so to speak and the over drive and disc brakes make for a highly entertained drive

Set up for energetic driving she sports a fire extinguisher to the passenger foot well, an aircraft style chronometer, twin fuel pumps and an Halda Trip meter for rallying

A full set of Mohair wet weather equipment is fitted, as well as a spare wheel cover containing a full set of tools too

One of the prettiest and nicest driving examples we have had the joy of using (our first experience with Ace's was in the early eighties when with the AC Owner Club we participated at the Harewood Speed Hill Climb in Yorkshire) and we've driven quite a few since !!

Highly recommended
