Construction of this Cobra replica started in 2009. The body is from Pilgrim and for the chassis a Fiero Factory chassis was used. This chassis is based on Ford engineering as is appropriate for a Cobra. The engine is a 5.0 liter (4942 cm3) V8 from a Ford Thunderbird and delivers 203 hp, which in combination with an empty weight of only 1050 kg is a recipe for a lot of fun. The engine was overhauled before installation and fitted with an MSD ignition. The five-speed transmission is a Borg-Warner T5 and the rear axle is equipped with a limited-slip differential. The Cobra is equipped with sidepipes (with catalytic converters!).The color scheme is super, hét color scheme for a Cobra: a blue metallic exterior with, as it should be, color-painted white “go faster stripes”. The beautiful beige-colored interior is upholstered in genuine leather. The dashboard is richly equipped with Smiths Classic Range instruments. The Smiths speedometer is calibrated. This Cobra has a very nice “stance” due to the mounted coilover kit and the cool 15-inch “Halibrand-look” rims with wide BF Goodrich tires. That makes this Cobra écht finished! The entire construction of this replica has been documented by means of a complete photo report that shows the entire construction perfectly, and a full binder containing all the bills, specifications, the RDW route, etc. By 2015, the construction of this Cobra had progressed to the point where the car could be fitted with a license plate. Now with many replica’s, precisely that correct license plate is a big issue. Not so with this car: this registration has not gone via the usual and much easier route with a registration in the Netherlands on the basis of één or other registered number plate from England. The constructor of this Cobra fortunately did not choose this route: the Cobra has undergone the entire examination and inspection process in the Netherlands, at the RDW in Lelystad. That immediately explains why this Cobra is equipped with daytime running lights, seats with headrests, a third brake light and three-point seat belts. This Cobra is therefore, after a remittance of no less than € 13,932, - in BPM, correctly on NL license plates. On February 17, 2015 the car was first registered, directly in the Netherlands in the name of still the current owner. So this replica has the correct registration of engine capacity, number of cylinders and with an officially registered chassis number. The car even has emission class 6 on registration! After registration, the car has driven only 11,000 km, NAP correct. Minor teething problems have been solved in the meantime and there is now a good as new Cobra replica ready from the first owner for the next new owner with correct NL license plate. A valuation report à € 65.000, - is in front. If you see yourself driving next season do not miss this opportunity.
