The Alfa Romeo Bertone has a stunning appearance. However, the specimen shown here is not quite standard anymore. The previous and only owner decided in the 1970s that he wanted to convert the car into a GTA replica. He took the car to a specialist coachbuilder and had it professionally widened. The car was then fitted with a pair of stripes, some cool wheels and the look was complete. This “letterbox” therefore looks wonderfully impressive.The body is in very good condition. The work was done very well at the time. The sheet metal is nice and thin everywhere and the fits are correct. The paint is largely original and is still neatly cared for. The car stands on beautiful sports rims that match the wide body and have good tires in the correct sizes. The striping on the side was professionally applied and is also still in very good condition.The interior of the Alfa Romeo is largely original and is in wonderful condition. The carpets are still the first but the seats, fully in line with the changes to the exterior have been replaced with bucket seats that offer more support. The steering wheel and shift lever are also completely original as is the dashboard. The instruments and controls all function as they should and look great.The technology has been top maintained over the years. The car is powered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder twin cam engine. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Both the engine and the transmission function excellently and make it a true joy to drive this Alfa Romeo. The brakes and chassis are well maintained and function as they should. Driving this car is thanks to the increased track width an even greater pleasure than with a standard car.In short, a beautiful Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV with a superb engine, fantastic appearance and great handling. Not a car for the purist but a car for the Alfa lover.
