Description

Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce (GTV) Series 1, delivered new in Turin

This 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce Bertone Series 1 features a 1,779 cc twin-cam four-cylinder engine producing 118 hp, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and four disc brakes. It is finished in the rare and highly desirable dark blue "Dutch Blue" color with a brown interior, matching original Series 1 specifications. Matching numbers and colors are confirmed, and it is equipped with a rare factory limited-slip differential. The car comes with Belgian registration documents.

The 1750 GTV Series 1 is among the most pure and desirable coupés built by Alfa Romeo. It retains its original elegant lines designed by Carrozzeria Bertone, free from later aesthetic changes. Delivered new in Turin, this example showcases the classic proportions of the Bertone body in a timeless color combination that appeals to connoisseurs and collectors.

Under the hood, the engine delivers a lively and precise driving experience, complemented by disc brakes on all four wheels and a well-balanced chassis. Built in the spirit of classic Alfa Romeo tradition, it offers a mechanical, direct, and unfiltered driving feel.

The car underwent a full, documented restoration, respecting authenticity and original specifications. Recent updates include a new stainless-steel exhaust system, new shock absorbers, a new rear bumper, and a period-correct functioning radio with the original electric antenna. The body was professionally repainted and presents well, with light signs of use. A small rust blister is present on the front right edge of the door. The underside is original, in good condition, with recent work and some grease traces visible.

The interior is original and shows signs of use, including tears on the seats and a torn driver's seat. The chassis number is original, correctly positioned, and clearly legible in the engine bay. The engine bay itself is in good, honest condition, with grease traces and a light oil leak at the engine and gearbox.

Mechanically, the car is in good condition. The engine has been recently worked on and is well adjusted. Ongoing maintenance is recommended; the battery will need replacement soon. The clutch and gearbox function properly, and brakes work correctly, though the handbrake requires adjustment. During a brake test, a 50% imbalance was recorded.

Electrically, the horn and dashboard functions are operational, but the windscreen wipers do not operate. Lighting works correctly, and suspension and axles are in proper working order.

In summary, this is a rare, elegant, and authentic Series 1 1750 GTV with strong provenance and an attractive configuration. It is suitable for a demanding collection or ready to be enjoyed on the road.
