We at Gallery Aaldering once started with Alfa Romeo’s, and for years we cried that the Alfa Romeo Montreal was a vastly underrated car. Fortunately, over the years the model has received the recognition it deserves. An insanely designed car with Italian styling at its finest. Look at how the grilles in front of the headlights move downward when the lights are turned on. That's the Montreal: you keep getting excited about it and you just can't stop looking at it. In the late 1960s, Alfa Romeo was commissioned to present a visionary concept for the car of the future at the 1967 World's Fair in Montreal. The young and talented designer Marcelo Gandini of the well-known design house Bertone was brought in for this prestigious occasion. Gandini, who gained immense fame for the iconic Lamborghini Miura, used his own authentic vision to create the Alfa Romeo Montreal. We confidently state that an Alfa Montreal and a Lamborghini Miura are unmistakably related. The positive response to the prototype made Alfa Romeo decide to develop a production version of the Montreal. The final model stayed true to the original design, but became even better than the prototype. Why? Alfa placed not the four-cylinder engine in the new Montreal, but a modified version of the Tipo 33 V8 engine! This racing engine, with its double overhead camshafts and dry sump lubrication system, delivered unprecedented performance for an Alfa Romeo suitable for street use. Thanks to this powerful engine and aerodynamic design, the Montreal achieved a top speed of nearly 225 km/h.With approximately 3,925 produced between 1971 and 1975, the Alfa Romeo Montreal has become a rare and sought-after collector's item. Rightly so, of course. This classic combines technical innovation with a timeless design, making it a unique and desirable car for any car enthusiast. The chic gray Montreal we offer here comes from 1972 and, with its black interior, forms an extremely tasteful and timeless presentation. The delicious V8 engine recently underwent an extensive overhaul at an Alfa Romeo specialist for almost 10,000 euros. Technically, this Montreal is in optimal condition. A V8 sounds wonderful! This Alfa also drives fantastic because the specialists with the right knowledge have performed maintenance on the Montreal. There has also been recent maintenance for about 8,000 euros to include the suspension and electrics, making it a car to proverbially get through a ring. In addition, this Montreal underwent restoration work in the past so that the paintwork is still in clean condition. The Montreal has the correct rims with tires and the details on this car are neat. Think of the rubber parts and the windows. The various body parts have nice fits. The interior is stunning with beautiful black leather on the beautifully designed seats. The wooden steering wheel, the red clocks with unique hands, the smaller dials and the center console with the typical black switches are things that immediately catch a car enthusiast's eye. A typical example of Italian interior design at its’s finest. The headliner and carpets look neatly cared for. With extensive maintenance and overhaul work, this example is a fantastic Alfa Montreal for the enthusiast. Looking for a Montreal in rare good condition?
