When Aston Martin launched the DB6, at the 1965 London Motor Show, they concluded that this Aston had improved over its predecessor, the DB5, in almost every way. With minor structural modifications, the DB6 reached top speeds of up to 240 mph, while a car magazine recorded 0-60 mph in just 7.1 seconds. That's smooth even today! The DB6 was therefore significantly improved. The body of the DB6 underwent extensive wind tunnel testing to improve stability at high speeds and crosswinds. With a streamlined rear end and changes to the rear axle, the DB6 offered not only improved performance, but also more interior space. Space in the rear had increased significantly, allowing four adults to travel comfortably, even at higher speeds. And fortunately, the car still closely resembled the phenomenal Aston Martin DB5. It happens regularly that a DB6 is mistaken for a DB5 here in the showroom. That's a compliment, right? We think so.This DB6 really has everything going for it. First of all, it has the sought-after and very rare manual transmission, which this Aston Martin was also originally delivered with. Also, this Aston has the sought after 3.73:1 rear axle ratio and this is an original factory Vantage (!) with matching numbers. This DB6 also has the original color scheme as it came from the factory at the time, namely Dubonnet red and Natural Brown leather upholstery. The combination of all these elements makes this DB6 an extremely rare specimen! By means of the extensive documentation with various bills, we can conclude that this Aston Martin was delivered by Cyril Williams Motors on April 7, 1966. In the past, this example underwent a partial restoration, which was expertly and very well done with a focus on maintaining its authentic appearance. Since the restoration and overhaul work, proper maintenance always took place and therefore the condition of this vintage Aston Martin is very good. The Superleggera bodywork underwent a complete restoration several years ago and through this work we can conclude that it looks good and well cared for. This DB6 was expertly repainted and therefore the paint looks very nice. A thorough inspection reveals that the chrome work is original and in good condition. In addition, the underside of the car is also in good condition. In the interior we find beautiful leather upholstery which forms a very chic combination with the exterior. The red carpets, along with the rest of the interior, are in very good condition. The beautiful clocks, along with the dashboard and switches look beautifully cared for. The red carpets are a sight to behold; the color combination of this DB6 is simply amazing!Driving this DB6 is a true time machine. Get behind the wheel and turn the key. The fantastic six-cylinder engine with three dual carburetors makes a wonderful sound and smells great! A very nice touch is that this engine is matching numbers, as we already mentioned. The technology of this Aston Martin is in great condition. For example, the brake system was completely overhauled a few years ago. Don't miss this opportunity to own a piece of automotive history.
