In 2013, Aston Martin had something to celebrate: the British sports car brand has been building gems of cars for 100 years. Enough reason for the first and only (!) Owner of this perfectly maintained Aston Martin V12 Vantage S to optically refer to the history. With a real “Special Edition” as a result. Including options for a solid Volkswagen occasion, a racing-inspired Sportshift III transmission and 574 hp!
In honor of the 100th anniversary, Aston Martin surprised in May 2013 with the CC100: a carbon fiber concept car with a lot of nods to the AM DBR1 racer from 1959. Nice, but what enthusiasts really want is a very fast production model suitable for the public road. We were heard, because 10 days after the introduction of the CC100, Aston Martin presented the V12 Vantage S: successor of the - also nauseous - V12 Vantage. At first sight a completely different car than the concept car. However, under the skin there are indeed similarities.
The technique of this Vehicle has always been in excellent hands, according to the fully demonstrable history. Since the AM with 4 wheels on Dutch asphalt, Aston Martin Dealer Kroymans has been studying the technology. But even outside the workshop, the Vantage S has no reason to complain: its current owner bought it new in Switzerland, and was so attached that he went with the move to NL. I can imagine…
The owner visualized the connection with the CC100 prototype through various anniversary emblems. The racing DNA is also clearly visible, witness the two-tone livery. The silver striping along the carbon grille is reminiscent of past Aston Martin Le Mans icons. A nice contrast to the jet black Jet Black paintwork. The V12 Vantage (S) can be recognized by its impressive, extremely compact proportions, thickened bumper (spoiler) s, racy air grilles, black 10-spoke rims and pizza discs made of carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes. Aston Martin also mounted canary yellow calipers especially for the visually impaired; the same color as the stitching in the black leather interior.
Equipment & technique
The option list has a rear view camera, Premium audio and heated front seats checked. Nothing special you would say. Until you notice the extra prices… Speaking of numbers: I am even more impressed by the performance: 574 hp from a 5.9 liter 12-cylinder and 510 Nm of torque available from 1,000 rpm! The Sportshift semi-automatic in the S version is 25 kg lighter than in its predecessor and the adaptive Bilstein chassis has 3 positions. The Sport button should always be on, if only because of the engine noise. The top speed is 330 km / h; making the AM V12 Vantage S the second (One-77) fastest production Aston Martin ever! How “special” do you want it?
