Description

1929 Bentley 4.5 litre Blower.

Chassis number: PL3481

Registration Number: SV4904 (To be reinstated.)

Chassis PL3481 was originally fitted with a saloon body and registered in 1929. The car suffered an accident in the 1940's at which time it went off the road prior to being rebuilt & fitted with the original 1930's body from chassis MS3949 by Competition Cars of Nayland who went out of business in 1956. Their coach plate can be still found inside the passengers door. The body is a very very attractive body it wears to this day, finished in Black paintwork with just the right amount of Patina.

Heavy crank engine number XT3629 is fitted & has been fully rebuilt & upgraded with a Phoenix steel crankshaft & conrods along with high compression pistons etc. An original Amherst Villiers supercharger is was also installed making this a very fast & potent machine. It is well known in racing circles having been used in anger on assorted race tracks & events for over 40 years. As a rally car, she is more than adequately equipped, fitted with long range fuel tanks, overdrive and luggage racks. Fast, reliable and meticulously prepared, nurtured by N.D.R. for over 10 years. A very serious car."

To the interior is patinated red leather in fine order. The dash board has the usual plethora of de-rigeur Bentley instrumentation including an oil feed glass to the supercharger bearing as fitted to in period blowers. This is a wonderfully sorted car ready for immediate use in rallies. races or simply as the ultimate in fast a touring Bentley. An export marker is noted by DVLA so should the car return to the UK we will apply to have SV4904 Re-instated. The car is currently temporarily sitting garaged just south of Lake constance where it may be viewed by prior appointment.

Numerous Period & recent photos of the car may be found from over the years at assorted events such as Goodwood & Benjafield gatherings.
