Description

“Brute in a Suit”
2020 Bentley Continental GT3-018
FIA-homologated GT3 race car
Double race winner in International GT Open
Triple winner in Dutch Supercar Challenge

Created in 2005 by the SRO Motorsports Group and currently maintained by the FIA, Group GT3 (commonly simply referred to as ‘GT3’) is one of the most popular motorsport formulas currently going, with large numbers of cars competing all around the globe and often headlining some of the most prestigious endurance races in the world. An open and attractive ruleset, coupled with a tightly controlled Balance of Performance system ensuring parity between cars, has led to a playing field in which manufacturers with cars and all shapes and sizes can come and compete. The numbers speak for themselves: the 2025 racing season started with no fewer than 14 manufacturers having some kind of GT3 offering currently active.

Although no longer as present as some of its rivals, the Bentley Continental GT3 still holds a warm place in the hearts of many racing enthusiasts. First introduced in 2014, with an updated version rolled out for 2018, the British brute quickly proved itself as a competitive proposition, peaking with a famous victory in the 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour for Jules Gounon, Jordan Pepper and Maxime Soulet.

This example (chassis 018) also has a winning pedigree, competing successfully in the International GT Open in both 2020 and 2021. Built by M-Sport in January/February 2020, it was delivered to Italian outfit Lazarus Racing for a campaign in the popular European GT3 series. With Fabrizio Crestani and Yannick Mettler at the wheel, the car took a victory at home soil by winning at Monza in September en route to fourth in the drivers’ standings. One further race outing would follow, again resulting in victory: Pepper, one of the stars of the famous Bathurst triumph, teamed with Ukrainian Ivan Peklin to win the 2021 season opener at Paul Ricard. After that weekend, the car was returned to M-Sport in mid-2021 before it was sold and relocated to the Netherlands.
In 2023 the car participated in the Dutch Supercar Challenge and won at Zandvoort, The Red Bull ring and Assen. Since then, it has stayed in The Netherlands and remains a relatively low-mileage example of one of the most recognizable GT3 cars of its time.
The Bentley Continental GT3 remains eligible for most championships, with an FIA homologation that will run until the end of 2031.
