The full experience, but completely 'new': that’s what you get with this exceptionally tasteful Bentley Speed 8 Le Mans, with just 250 kilometers of test driving under its belt. A unique opportunity to experience the pre-war Bentley feel, featuring period-correct parts and built with an incredible amount of craftsmanship. We are pleased to present this fantastic, legendary race car to you.
We are dealing here with a Bentley Speed 8, the legendary racer that made its name with two victories at Le Mans during the 24-hour race. Although it may look nearly 100 years old, this is not the case. Connoisseurs will recognize that this car was built by Racing Green Engineering, a renowned specialist in crafting "reincarnations" of old Bentley race cars on demand.
This Speed 8 was built in 2023, commissioned by Nico Aaldering, a good friend of Gallery Aaldering. The Bentley is built on the highly sought-after short chassis. Before construction began, this chassis from 1950 was fully restored to mint condition. Racing Green Engineering then created a unique vehicle, as no two of their creations are ever the same.
A Bentley B81 engine, an inline eight-cylinder with a displacement of 6,516 cc and overhead intake and exhaust valves, was mounted on the chassis. It offers the choice between a mechanical fuel pump or a dual electric one. The car has two fuel tanks, with capacities of 86 liters and 40 liters.
The engine is paired with a four-speed manual transmission, with second, third, and fourth gears synchronized. The suspension was upgraded for improved handling, making steering with the substantial Bentley steering wheel even more enjoyable.
This "new" Bentley can pick up speed easily, and to keep it in mint condition, it features hydraulic drum brakes at the front and mechanical drum brakes at the rear, with a mechanical brake booster for easier stopping. The drums are housed in beautiful 21-inch spoke wheels fitted with 21x7.00 tires and knock-off hubs.
All details combine period correctness with reliability. The car is equipped with a 12V system and halogen lighting in Lucas P100 headlight units. The bodywork is beautifully finished, complemented by a soft top and a full tonneau cover. The windshield folds down and is made of modern safety glass.
Inside, the leather upholstery is in mint condition, with heated seats for added comfort. Woven carpets add a touch of elegance, and the entire instrument cluster is in perfect condition.
This car offers a remarkable blend of history, craftsmanship, and performance. We invite you to see it in Brummen for a final look—though after reading this, you may already be convinced. The first owner will be happy to tell you everything about this exceptional vehicle.
