May 17, 1973 must have been a very special day for the first owner of this meticulously assembled “Taiga Green” BMW E9 3.0 CSi. The car was delivered new in the Netherlands and has been in the possession of its last owner for no less than 40 years. This BMW has been restored in the past and is still in good condition. The bodywork was stripped down to bare metal and repaired where necessary. The car was then completely repainted in its original color. The work was carried out very well at the time, and the overall condition of the car can therefore only be described as very good. The bodywork still looks beautiful, with nice, thin sheet metal and clean panel gaps. The chrome trim and wheels are also in good condition. The interior is upholstered in black fabric and is in good condition. Since the car has been stored indoors for much of its life, the interior did not need to be reupholstered. The black fabric upholstery is in good condition, and the carpets are also well-maintained. The BMW’s dashboard looks beautiful, as do the instruments and controls. The mechanical components were overhauled during the restoration. The cylinder head was overhauled by a specialist, and all engine bearings and seals were replaced. The cylinders were rebored, and new piston rings were installed. In addition, the clutch and timing chain were replaced. The car is also equipped with ventilated brake discs, including new brake pads and new brake lines. Furthermore, the water pump, shock absorbers, and springs were replaced, and a new master cylinder was installed. In short, this is not only a beautiful BMW E9 to look at but also a car that is in excellent technical condition.
