BMW 323i E21 1980
This is a rock-solid car imported from Europe. It features a 5-speed manual transmission and a sought-after 2.3-liter 6-cylinder engine. The vehicle is equipped with 20-spoke alloy wheels and retains its original “Graphite Metallic” paint. It is a top-of-the-line first-generation 3 Series with an onboard toolkit. The car has been well-maintained, with the next service due in July 2025 at 210,032 km. It is in neat and original condition.
History and Documentation
This attractive BMW 323i is in very good, original condition. As the top model of BMW’s first “true” 3 Series, the E21, it boasts a 2.3-liter 6-cylinder engine with fuel injection, producing 143 pk and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds—impressive figures for a small, compact sedan. Its handling and sporty suspension make it a delightful driver’s car. Although there was no M3 in this generation, the 323i is considered a precursor to the M3.
The vehicle was delivered new by BMW dealer Friulauto Pordenone S.P.A. on April 22, 1980, in Porcia, Italy. This is evidenced by the original delivery booklet, which is still with the car. The original service booklet and owner’s manual are also included, stored neatly in the original leather dashboard folder. Maintenance has been performed regularly, with various historical records included.
Exterior
The car’s bodywork has been exceptionally well preserved and remains in excellent condition, with minimal rust issues common in other examples. Panel gaps are beautifully aligned. The original color, Graphite Metallic, is a stylish gray metallic shade that complements the chrome accents. Optional features include front fog lights and 13-inch 20-spoke alloy wheels. The chrome trim and bumpers are in pristine condition. Dual exhaust tips at the rear add a touch of flair.
Interior
The interior is sporty, functional, and driver-oriented. The dashboard is well-organized, with clear gauges and easy-to-use controls. The interior features a combination of black and gray. The seats and rear bench are free of damage and include headrests. The dashboard and headliner are still in good condition, with only minimal signs of wear. Dark blue floor mats are in place. The interior remains remarkably original, with a large tachometer with green and red accents emphasizing its sporty character. The seats offer good support for a sporty driving experience. The interior includes a working Blaupunkt cassette radio, power mirrors, and tinted windows. The windows are still original.
