Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1987 BMW 325iC, the definitive open-air premium sports car of the 1980s. Timeless design and legendary engineering define this vehicle. Unlike contemporary aftermarket conversions, BMW heavily engineered this factory cabriolet from the ground up, adding massive steel reinforcements to the rocker panels and unibody to preserve the trademark razor-sharp handling of the E30 chassis.
Driven by the legendary 2.5-liter M20 inline-six engine, the 325iC replaces the fuel-economy-minded Eta engine of the 325e with a free-revving, 168-horsepower engine that sings all the way to a 6,000 RPM redline. It features quad-halogen headlights, a perfectly proportioned three-box design, and a timeless manual soft top, providing a pure, unadulterated connection to the road.
The engine specifications include a 2.5L M20B25 naturally aspirated inline-six with a SOHC valvetrain, two valves per cylinder, and Bosch Motronic multi-point electronic fuel injection. It produces 168 horsepower at 5,800 RPM and 164 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 RPM.
This vehicle is rear-wheel drive (RWD) and equipped with a Getrag 260 5-speed manual transmission. It features 4-wheel power-assisted disc brakes with standard anti-lock braking system (ABS). The front suspension consists of MacPherson struts, an anti-roll bar, and gas shock absorbers.
