Teal was a British manufacturer specializing in classic replicas and lightweight sports cars, heavily inspired by Bugatti models. The brand is affiliated with Trafford Engineering Automotive Ltd and was developed by Ian Foster and Bob Jones. Production occurred in small numbers between 1981 and 2000, with a total of 160 Teal variants built in various versions such as the Type 35, 43, 44, and 59. The Teal Type 35/43 is a hand-built, open-top two-seater based on classic lines.
This particular Teal Type 35/43 dates back to 1984 when Bob Jones began building his own Teal. The car started as a Teal 35 boattail and was later transformed into a Type 43, inspired by the Bugatti 43. For this, the distinctive “dickey seat” rear was chosen instead of the usual boattail. The project has a long history of restoration and was further developed over several years, resulting in its current form.
The Teal Type 35/43 features an all-aluminum body and is equipped with a 2.5-liter inline six-cylinder engine, a four-speed manual transmission, and overdrive. The engine has been meticulously tuned. The car has passed its APK inspection and underwent a restoration process lasting over five years.

The Stromberg carburetors still exhibit some issues.
