Buick Regal III was presented for the first time in 1987.
In the fall of 1987, Buick introduced a completely new third-generation Regal, which completely broke with the image of its predecessors and adopted a new concept. In line with the prevailing trends in the American automotive industry at the end of the 1980s, the car became even smaller and gained avant-garde, flowing lines of the body, numerous soaring accents and a characteristic, long bonnet [4]. The reduction of external dimensions translated into a lighter body, smaller capacity of available engines and better maneuverability while driving [5].
For the last time in the history of the Regal model series, the car was also offered as a 2-door coupe. After the end of production in 1996, this variety disappeared from the market for good.
