Description

You're looking at a tribute to one of the meanest street machines ever. This 1957 Chevrolet 150 not only looks like a Black Widow two-door sedan, but also the upgraded small block under the hood and four-on-the-floor give you the performance of a true blacktop king. And when they restored this Chevy to be the meanest around, they also made sure to make this a better all-around cruiser with everything from air conditioning to four-wheel disc brakes.

In 1957, Chevrolet just wanted to offer a simple black and white, bare-bones utility sedan for those who needed basic transportation. But the way the option sheet was configured, some took advantage of the lightest of the '57s and added serious power. And the legend of the Black Widow was born. This '57 Chevy takes that history and turns it up a notch. The exterior gives cool subtle hints about its upgraded nature with the Rally wheels, tinted windows, and Chevy bowtie tail lights. So some people may not even pick up on the upgraded nature in the first glance. After all, this has all your favorite elements of the Tri-Fives, like the iconic '57 Chevy grille, dual hood ornaments, pointed tail fins, and the '55 Bel Air style two-tone trim separation that was used for the 150-model this year.

The 150 line had one of the coolest interior patterns around. The comfy cloth inserts on the seats and the matching side panels were as wild as some of the custom creations that would come out decades later. So the restored interior will attract a wide range of people. That's why it's nice that this tribute car has a back seat to share with more family and friends (utility sedans just had a parcel shelf.) You'll love how the dash continues the black and silver theme. And while they took time to make this look period-correct, there are also plenty of the right investments to make this classic feel like a solid modern cruiser. There are subtly added comforts like the retro-style AM/FM stereo and cold-blowing air conditioning. And the Chevy sports steering wheel, tilt column, Hurst shifter, and fully upgraded gauges (still in the factory housing) make this quite engaging.

Under the hood is exactly what you want to see. It's a show-ready presentation with smooth inner walls, plenty of polish, and cool details like the flame-etched valve covers. And since the Tri-Fives launched the small block era, it's nice to have that V8 at the center. But just like everything else you've seen on this car, the engine bay has been upgraded correctly. The 350 cubic-inch crate motor is younger and larger than what was offered in 1957. And it has been further enhanced with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a mid-rise intake, and Hedman headers feeding the dual exhaust. There are even good supporting components like an upgraded ignition and an aluminum radiator with electric fan. Best of all, the four-speed manual transmission puts you in firm control of the power and soundtrack. This is a strong driver that has the right road-ready features like power steering, wide BF Goodrich T/As, and rear traction bars. And the four-wheel power disc brakes with drilled & slotted rotors means superior stopping power.

We like this car because it was made to be a driver. The exterior is glossy without being a museum piece. The interior keeps it classic while giving you the best creature comforts. And the engine really knows how to deliver Black Widow's worth of power. It all makes for a car that's a tribute to a legend, and it lets you enjoy it to the fullest so you can make a legend of your own. Call today!!!
