Hello. My name is Jim.
I’ve enjoyed being a collector for nearly 50 years now; and a dealer for over 40 years of that time.
This original and unrestored 1958 truck is one of the best original-type survivors I’ve ever seen or had opportunity to own. It’s been in my personal collection since I purchased it, over 30 years ago from Classic Chevy International (no longer in business). Since purchase, it’s spent most of its life parked between my green 59 pickup, and whatever else has come through the door. Until now, it’s been out of circulation to the buying public.
I’m a Roy Rogers fan; and I love it so-much, I had nicknamed the truck “Trigger” after Roy’s palomino. It’s ironic, I later found out Roy actually recorded a 58 Chevrolet truck promotional video commercial.
It’s an amazing original truck; from an era in time when trucks got destroyed, serving as street-legal tractors. In contrast, Trigger has only 28,000 original miles; and I haven’t added 50 miles in the last 32 years.
It’s not plain-Jane either. After some research amongst other long time collectors, former dealership staff, and retired manufacturer executives, I’ve come to recognize it as what they call a “Parts and Accessories Demonstrator”.
I can’t replace the truck. Even with my network, I don’t know of another truly like it. I’m not sure it can be fully replicated, given any number of dollars or years of skilled labor. However, I’m to a point in my seventies where I’d like to find Trigger a new stable.
I can provide photos of the truck from every angle. I have documentation spanning back into the mid-70s. I personally know one of the owners previous to me. I can provide videos attesting to the Trigger’s full functionality and roadworthiness. It is of coarse equipped with all of its original mechanical components (cast numbers, cast dates, chalk marks, etc.) Anything I’ve maintained has been a rebuild of the original, not a replacement (water pump, fuel pump).
If you’re a classic car and truck enthusiast and collector, like I am, I’d be glad to tell you more. Just give me a call. I don’t toil much with text and instant messaging.
My family and I love classic cars; and trucks especially. I might consider a partial trade. I’m mostly a GM guy, but I love the Mopar & FoMoCo varieties too. I’m not above a driver or complete project either.
Thanks sincerely for your time and consideration.
