Description

We meet a lot of enthusiasts with different preferences at our place in Brummen. A large group of these enthusiasts has a weakness for the American sports car. We don't find that surprising, because in the United States they made wonderful products. If we talk about music, Fender gave us the Telecaster guitar. Then when we think of cars’s, the Chevrolet Corvette soon comes to mind. The Chevrolet Corvette is a well-known and sought-after car, and the second-generation Corvette Sting Ray, which we offer here, is a great example of that. At the time, the new model was considered a ‘sexy’ aerodynamic design. We still think so today! The C2, as this model is also called, received a completely redesigned chassis and this was the first Corvette with independent suspension, developed by Zora Arkus-Duntov. Also new was the very first production Corvette coupé, which was immediately recognizable by its split rear window, hence the name ‘split-window’. 1963 was the only year that Chevrolet equipped the Corvette with this now famous rear window, and so today it is abundantly clear when we come across a closed Corvette with ‘split-window’ that it is a 1963 example.

The all-new Corvette garnered immediate praise, with testers from Motor Trend noting, ‘We thought the old model could corner pretty hard, but there is no comparison to this new one.’ The model has become an American icon, in part because the car is known for its combination of European influences and American muscle. What a beautiful Corvette is in silver, don't you think? ‘Sebring Silver’ is this color and the black leather interior is also beautiful! This example has certainly not been economized on. So we deliver the car with extensive documentation and we see that in recent years the proper maintenance took place. For example, the previous owner had several fuel hoses replaced, the fuel pump, water pump, intake manifold and engine mounts. Our example is the iconic and sought-after Corvette because of its ‘split-window’ and underwent restoration and overhaul work several years ago. The result? A beautiful Corvette in restored condition. The color ‘Sebring Silver’ looks neat and the whole thing looks good, including the fitments. In the interior we find the beautiful upholstery, also in good condition. The counters look nice and the interior as a whole looks neat. Both under the hood and underneath the car we can assure you that this is a neat car. Driving the Corvette is of course great! The smell and sound of the engine is a joy for any enthusiast. By the way, the automatic transmission shifts well and the Corvette drives as you would expect. This is partly due to the work, but also to the necessary maintenance that this Corvette received.
