Description

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe You learn in art class that the color black is the absence of light or color. In the case of this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette, Black IS the color! (900) Tuxedo Black outside and (ZQ4) black vinyl inside, a color combination that had less than 1000 produced the year 1969. This is 4 wheels of intimidation and an iconic classic sports car. Back in 1969, I was a child living on the east side of Detroit a few blocks from the Detroit River. I wasn't afraid of the sound of the race boats racing around Belle Isle, nor was I afraid of the firework display on the 4th of July at Cobo Hall. But I was definitely fearful of the sound of the rumble of the muscle cars coming down the street. It was a game my sister and I used to play. We'd hear that rumble from a few blocks away, freeze in our tracks, and as this 4 wheeled monster got close, we'd race to the back of the house! (a former bootleggers house I might add) We would hide, because if that car saw you( it had eyes), you would turn to stone or some other imaginary fearful thing we've dreamed up. I can honestly say I never saw the muscle cars coming in front of the house, because I was hiding in the back of the house from them. So how cool is it now that I get to represent this wonderful pristine Corvette.This1969 Corvette Stingray Coupe is not a big block. Its a healthy 350cu and 300hp L48 V8 Technical Stuff- HP@ RPM 300 @ 4800, Torque @ RPM380 @ 3200, Compression Ratio 10.25:1,Bore & Stroke 4.00 x@ RPM 300 @ 4800, Torque @ RPM380 @ 3200, Compression Ratio 10.25:1,Bore & Stroke 4.00 x 3.48, Cylinder Block-Cast Iron,Main Bearings 5 Valve Lifters-Hydraulic Carburetion-4bbl RochesterIntake Manifold-Cast Alloy IronOil Capacity- 5qts w/filter,Exhaust-Dual 2.0". Sale also includes 4 still in the wrapper (except one serving as the spare) wheels and tires. The Independent rear suspension, different from a lot of muscle cars of the day and Wishbone suspension is all very clean in this 69. There is no rust to be seen on this car. The 4-wheel disc brakes on it are a large 10 inch rotors.5:1,Bore & Stroke 4.00 x 3.48, Cylinder Block-Cast Iron,Main Bearings 5 Valve Lifters-Hydraulic Carburetion-4bbl RochesterIntake Manifold-Cast Alloy IronOil Capacity- 5qts w/filter,Exhaust-Dual 2.0". The 4-wheel disc brakes on it are a large 10 inch rotors. My husband had a 1971 Corvette convertible, a very similar car to this one. And as is in this car, the dual exhaust goes right through the crossmember frame. Whether you're a passenger or the driver you get a lot of heat off of that. The small block is less heat, but he also liked the small block for its weight distribution between the front and the rear. A National Corvette Restoration Society (NCRS) judge told the current owner-"Buy this car" upon looking at it. The current owner has owned it for 14 years . It was restored prior to his ownership in North Carolina. He has been meticulous on maintenance and only a job transfer makes this car available. Outside of the age, there are only a couple things . The radio antennae is in the trunk and the brand new washer bag needs to be installed. It has an aftermarket Offenhauser performance intake manifold for extra power. There is a ding in the front hood where some one forgot to screw in the wing nut on the carburetor and shut the hood on it. It appears all the vacuum operated stuff works- turn signals- wiper door opens. Corvette took vacuum operation off the carburetor to operate the vents for heat, and headlights and the washer wiper door. 1969 was the only year that the rear window comes out. Remove the T-tops and you practically have a convertible! Please contact Suzanne for more info. [email protected]
