Gateway Classic Cars invites you to step into classic American muscle with this iconic 1981 Chevrolet Corvette. Representing the refined era of the C3 generation, this Corvette blends timeless fiberglass body lines with improved driver comfort and engineering enhancements.
Under the hood sits the factory-correct 5.7-liter 350 cu. in. L81 V8 engine, rated at 190 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Featuring GM's Computer Command Control (CCC) system, Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor, magnesium valve covers, and factory stainless steel exhaust headers, this 350 runs smooth and delivers classic V8 sound through its dual-outlet exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission equipped with a lockup torque converter for efficient highway cruising.
Handling remains tight and responsive thanks to Corvette's four-wheel independent suspension—utilizing lightweight composite rear leaf springs—paired with direct-acting hydraulic shocks and a front anti-roll bar. Stopping power is delivered reliably by standard 4-wheel power disc brakes featuring 4-piston calipers at all four corners. The car rides on classic 15x8-inch cast-aluminum wheels wrapped in white-letter radial tires.
