This Chevrolet was manufactured in 1931 in Oshawa in the state of Ontario, Canada. The bodywork was built by 'Fisher'. Around 1994, the car was imported from Canada to the Netherlands by a collector. Since 1997, the car has been in the possession of its current owner: an enthusiast who has always cared for and used the car with passion. It has participated in several club trips, such as to Germany and Paris, without the car disappointing. It has therefore been well maintained: the engine has been preventively overhauled at a reputable company. A new radiator has also been fitted and brake linings replaced. The convertible roof and tyres are as good as new. The colour combination of the bodywork is beautiful and makes the car a standout. This is enhanced by the beige-coloured convertible roof and 'whitewall' tyres. Folding open the 'rumbleseat' (aka mother-in-law's seat) allows two extra passengers to tag along. The large headlights, wire wheels and trunk on the back of the car are distinctive. Besides its reliable technical condition, the car is also in fine condition optically. The interior is also in impeccable condition. In short, a trouble-free 'prewar car' that will turn heads in every drive. The model with the smooth 6-in-line engine is known for its relatively comfortable driving characteristics and makes this a sought-after model, especially in the Sport Roadster version as we have the pleasure to offer.

General information about the Chevrolet Series AE Independence
The Chevrolet Series AE was built in 1931 and succeeded the 1930 Series AD. This model received a slightly longer wheelbase, but the most notable change from its predecessor was the addition of the eagle ornament on top of the car's grille. The model was available with many different body styles, which were built by Fisher. Despite the 'Great Depression', Chevrolet built over 600,000 cars in 1931, producing the 8 millionth car in the same year. Chevrolet produced about 20,000 convertible versions in 1931. The AE featured a 3.2-litre 6-cylinder engine with 50 hp. The convertible achieved a top speed of 137 km/h, which was a handsome achievement for the time. At the time, Chevrolet advertised the slogan 'A Six for the Price of a Four'.
