Highly original bodywork.
Luxury version with parking lights and hazard lights.
Ami engine with approximately 29 hp.

Exterior
This exceptionally beautiful Citroën AK 400 has been completely and extensively restored, including a new chassis and interior. The AK 400 (payload 400 kg) is the sought-after van version of the iconic 2CV, also known as the "Duck." Built in 1971 at the Citroën factory in Vigo, Spain, this example comes from an enthusiast’s collection and is in very good condition. The bodywork remains largely original and has been painted in the elegant "Albatros" beige/gray color. The chrome trim is mostly original and has been renewed where necessary. The wheels and rubber components are in good condition. This is one of the most beautiful AKs we have seen.

Interior
The simple interior has been restored and is in good condition. The seats feature attractive brown upholstery. The interior is equipped with heating, and there are switches for the windshield wipers and hazard lights. The side windows are hinged for easy opening.

Technical
The original 1971 AK 400 had a 22 hp engine, but this example is fitted with a more powerful Ami engine producing approximately 29 hp. The car drives, brakes, and shifts well. It is equipped with high-quality silicone-based brake fluid. The new chassis is hot-dip galvanized, providing excellent rust protection. The galvanizing process covers inaccessible areas, making the chassis maintenance-free without additional treatments such as Tectyl or painting. No rust has been found on this vehicle.

General
The Citroën 2CV, known as the "Duck" or "Ugly Duckling," was created in 1935 primarily for French farmers. It was designed to be affordable, reliable, and capable of transporting goods like potatoes, eggs, and wine over unpaved roads. The design ensured eggs in a basket wouldn't break when driving over rough terrain. Originally planned for the 1939 Paris Motor Show, its debut was delayed until 1948 due to the war. Production lasted from 1949 to 1990, making it a highly successful and iconic model.

The van version, called the Fourgonnette, was produced starting in 1951, with the AK 400 model introduced in 1970. These vans were used by Dutch roadside assistance services and are now highly sought after for marketing or camper conversions.

This Citroën AK 400 from 1971 has been fully restored, with a new galvanized chassis, original bodywork, and a luxurious setup with parking and hazard lights. It features an Ami engine with approximately 29 hp, and the vehicle is in excellent condition.
