Description

The Citroën SM debuted in the early 1970s as a distinctive grand touring model, developed during a period when Citroën combined technological innovation with a focus on comfort and aerodynamics. Positioned between a luxury touring car and a sporty long-distance coupe, the SM had a unique character within the European lineup of that era. Its collaboration with Maserati provided the SM with a six-cylinder V-engine, giving it a special place in automotive history.

The convertible version crafted by Henri Chapron, known as the Mylord, occupies a unique position in the model's history. Produced in very limited numbers at the time, it is an exclusive variant of an already exceptional car. The Citroën SM Cabriolet offered here is a meticulously reconstructed homage to that rare Chapron version, completed in June 1972.

In its day, the Citroën SM was regarded as a technically and stylistically unconventional model, combining French design tradition, Italian engine construction, and a chassis concept characteristic of Citroën. The car was part of a period when the brand set itself apart with cutting-edge technology, including advanced suspension systems and steering solutions that deviated from conventional approaches.

This Citroën SM Cabriolet is equipped with a 2.7-liter Maserati V6 engine, producing 125 kW (170 pk), and a five-speed manual transmission. It features a green exterior and a luxurious leather interior, along with air conditioning and hydropneumatic suspension. The odometer reads 27,874 km.

Renowned for its hydropneumatic suspension and DIRAVI steering, this model's technology, combined with its body design, gives the SM a distinctly unique character. The convertible version emphasizes its exclusivity, as the original Chapron Mylord was produced in only small numbers.

The Citroën SM Cabriolet offered here is described as a Mylord Hommage and is in absolute mint condition, both inside and out. The deep green exterior and leather interior reflect its exclusive character and historical reference to the open-top Chapron version.

This car combines the technology and concept of the SM with the rare form of a Chapron-inspired convertible. It is a June 1972 Mylord Hommage equipped with a 2.7-liter Maserati V6, five-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, and hydropneumatic suspension.
