Books have already been written about John DeLorean. So let's leave aside the colorful founder of the car brand of the same name. What remains is a unique car, a brilliant concept and a car that was made world famous by the films of Back to the Future. Whether the DMC DeLorean would have become as famous without the movies and would still be so loved today, we will never know.Our car which has been on Dutch soil for 32 years looks beautiful. The bodywork was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and is a beautiful piece of design. The way the car is built is an equally great masterpiece the basis is a Y-shaped chassis that was inspired by the Lotus Esprit. Around this is a fibreglass underbody on which the stainless steel body was mounted. A wonderful way to build a car. Most likely, the look alone is responsible for the fact that rumors have surfaced so often that someone wanted to make a relaunch of the illustrious brand. The brushed aluminum exterior gives the DeLorean a beautiful and futuristic look and still looks to pass muster.The engineering is beautifully done. The engineering has recently been completely overhauled. The work on this DeLorean is all beautifully documented through invoices. The rest of the interior looks neat as well. The flat, wide instrument panel is fully functional, something that includes the controls and electrical items such as the window controls. We sometimes see it differently on DeLorean's but this example has neatly clean upholstery on the seats and the dashboard and other parts are also still very clean in terms of upholstery. The carpets are obviously also in good condition. The engine and transmission are also very solid. The DMC DeLorean is powered by a 2.7 liter V6 engine that DeLorean was allowed to build under license from Renault. The engine produces 132 horsepower and in this case is mated to a manual transmission. The engine and transmission are more than up to the task and make the DeLorean a wonderfully relaxed touring car. The car is equipped with independent suspension all around and excellent brakes and drives fantastic.In short, a beautiful DeLorean in a beautiful collectors quality with mountains of preventive maintenance which we rarely antreffen as beautiful.
