Description

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to present this 1973 Dodge Challenger, finished in an eye-catching Sub-Lime Green exterior. The black vinyl interior offers classic muscle car style, with seatbelts and air conditioning for comfort and safety.

Under the hood is a 440 V8 engine, originally from a 1968 Dodge Charger RT. It has been upgraded with JE custom forged 10.5-1 pistons, 440 Richard Petty NASCAR rods, a dual-pattern billet camshaft, Isky rockers, and custom 3/8" chromoly pushrods. This build delivers an unforgettable driving experience.

The drivetrain features a 727 Hemi 3-speed transmission with 9 clutch discs, providing smooth and responsive shifts. The fuel system includes a 440 Torquer aluminum manifold, a new Holley 850 CFM carburetor, and an Edelbrock air cleaner housing and filter for optimal performance. The exhaust system has original 1974 appliance 4-bolt headers that have been blasted and ceramic coated, dual 3-inch stainless-steel tubing, and turbo mufflers, producing a powerful muscle car sound.

Handling is enhanced with power steering and a rebuilt 3 1/2 ratio gearbox. Power brakes with front disc brakes and rebuilt calipers ensure confident stopping, while the rear features original 10-inch drums for authenticity. Radial tires provide road grip, and polished stainless-steel moldings along with original body sheet metal highlight the car’s timeless design.

This Challenger underwent an 11-month restoration, restoring its heritage while improving performance. Whether cruising through town or on a weekend drive, this Dodge Challenger offers a blend of raw power and refined comfort.
