Description

1969 Dodge Coronet 440 Super Bee Six pack for sale

Following the success of the Plymouth Road Runner in the late 1960's, Dodge put its team to work to design a direct competitor. Upon its launch in 1968, the Dodge Super Bee was available with a choice of two engines, a base 383-cu in Magnum offering 335 Bbp and a 426-cu in Hemi producing 425 Bhp. The Hemi variant offered huge power but came with an equally huge price tag, thus effecting sales dramatically. In fact, a mere 125 cars were sold. Shortly after production began, a third engine joined the lineup, a 440 in Six Pack (Six Pack meaning the two-barrel carburettors).
This model produced 390 bhp and bridged the somewhat large gap between the base car and the Hemi-engined model. The car we have for sale here is a highly impressive and very special motorcar. Originally a 1969 Super Bee 440 Six Pack, this car has recently been subject to a comprehensive restoration carried out as extremely high standard. The end result is quite frankly astonishing.

Exterior: The Dodge Coronet Super Bee 440 “Six pack” 1969 that we have for sale I think is as muscular as an American muscle car can get. Today fitted with a set of wheels that suit the style of car and fill out the wheel arches well. The colour combination is just spot on for this giant 2-door coupe. A lot of work has been done recently to the body. The Super Bee was repainted in 2018/2019 and has been used only on dry summer days after that. At the same times as the car was painted, the vinyl top was also replaced. The Super Bee is now straight as arrow and has very good panel gaps. The underneath of the car is as good as the top. New European headlights replaced the sealed beam type used in USA during this period.

Interior: The bright red interior matches the Super Bee decor on the outside of the car. A few extra gauges have been added to make sure you have everything under the big black hood under control. There are proper seat belts installed up front for your safety. Otherwise, the only thing that reveals that this is something more that ordinary on the inside is the big Hurst shifter grip.

History: This 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee 440 Six pack came from Montana USA to UK in January 2013. Then, in 2013 it was time to come home to Sweden. I don’t think there is any other country in the world outside America that has so many nice American cars as Sweden. Even though the car was stated to be in a very good condition when it arrived here, a second restoration of this car started. Today, I doubt if there is another 1969 Dodge 440 Supe Bee out there in better condition. It comes with a thick binder of documentation going all the way back to USA. Invoices for a lot of the work that has been done; even an original Chrysler build sheet with all the numbers. If you are looking for a serious muscle car, you must take this one under consideration. American muscle cars are not our specialty, even though we think this car is very cool. The car is from a customer who has invested a lot of time and money into it. But, now some new doors have opened and it is time to find a new home for this very special car. Are you the one we are looking for?
