In 1986, Ferrari was forced to create a specific model to "overcome" the high tax burden applied in the Italian market to cars with a cylinder capacity greater than 2,000 cm3. Thus, the 208 GTB Turbo is born, as well as the targa variant, the 208 GTS Turbo.
The 208 was essentially a 328, but equipped with a turbocharged 2-liter engine. It is, however, interesting to note that the 208, with its 2-litre turbocharged V8, produced 254hp and offered a very similar performance to the 328, also equipped with an atmospheric 3.2-litre V8. Between 1986 and 1989 the production of this model was reduced, which makes it a true collectible.
This 1989 208 GTS Turbo is matching numbers is in excellent condition and features the most classic of all combinations – red exterior with black leather interior.
