This is a beautiful Ferrari 250 GTE from the third series from 1964. The car was delivered new in Milan to Ferrari dealer M.G. Crepaldi Automobili in 1963 and a little later for the first time provided with a license plate. It is a matching numbers Ferrari. The car has been restored in the recent past and already fully technically overhauled by a brand specialist. A striking detail in that restoration was that the interior was still in such good condition that it was only necessary to refill the seats and to grease the leather. The interior has a beautiful appearance. The car is also very well maintained and at a later point in its life, we suspect during the restoration, equipped with a Webasto Tudor sunroof. The body of the car looks beautiful. The sheet metal is nice and thin and the fits are correct. The body of the Ferrari was reduced to bare metal during the restoration and completely repainted. The paint therefore still looks very good and has only some very minimal traces of use. The Webasto Tudor sunroof works perfectly, is in very good condition and fits neatly throughout. It gives an almost open driving experience when you drive the car with the windows and roof open and a Targa effect when you only have the roof open. Not surprising that a previous owner chose to have this work done. The Borrani wheels are original and during the restoration re-chromed and equipped with good tires in the correct sizes.
The inside is, as previously indicated, equipped with original leather upholstery. The leather is wonderfully supple and has a beautiful appearance. During the restoration, the inside of the car was fitted with new carpets and the headliner was also renewed. The car still has the original steering wheel and the original instruments. The inside of the car looks well cared for and functions as it should. The technology has been very well maintained over the years, after the overhaul. Therefore, the engine runs beautifully and the transmission allows itself to be controlled precisely. In the recent past, the chassis was already renewed and the brakes are also well maintained. The car slows down just as easily as it builds up speed. The 250 GTE was the first car for Ferrari that they could build in échte volumes and if you drive it today you will understand completely why that is. At the time, it must have been nearly impossible to find a better sporty Gran Tourer with a brilliant V12 that could easily carry four people. The build quality was perfect, the engine an absolute masterpiece and a good transmission and beautifully balanced chassis. What more could a person want? The car comes with a copy of the original manual. In short, a beautiful Ferrari 250 GTE from the third series with a lovely large sunroof and in very good condition. Truly a typical car that you will love more with the driven kilometers.
