History of the model and curiosities
The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a sports car produced by the Ferrari car manufacturer. It was marketed from 1996 to be replaced in 2002 by the Ferrari 575M Maranello.

It is considered one of the most beautiful and cutting-edge models ever produced by the house of the Prancing Horse. It marked Ferrari's return to the segment of front-engined sports berlinettas, from which it had been missing since the sixties and seventies, as the company had no longer produced a car with these characteristics since the time of the Ferrari 250 GTO (1962). The last front-engined Ferrari Gran Turismo before the 550 Maranello was the 365 GTB/4 Daytona which went out of production in 1974, making way for 23 years of rear-engined supercars from the 365 GT/4 BB to the F512 M (the last Testarossa). All the front-engined Ferraris, which were built between these years and 1996, were mostly luxury and representative cars with high performance and a 2+2 seat configuration (for example, the Ferrari 412 and the Ferrari 456 GT). , but they were not conceived as racing cars adapted for road use.
