The 599, designed by Pininfarina, appeared in 2007 as a step forward in the range, with looks that were somewhat controversial at the time, but today count as a culmination of that last era of streamlined and stylish design led by Pininfarina. Simple and understated, yet very aggressive.
The Ferrari 612 is not only its predecessor, but a first-generation pioneer in Ferrari that strayed far from the 575 and 550 branch. So then the 599... Take the 612. Add chili. More... Even more.... It's starting to look like... You get what we're getting at. The 612 was a true GT, the 599 a supercar that also lends itself to GT.
Where the 612 still used the "old" V12, in the 599 the F140C block was shoved in. And that block is similar to the block of the Ferrari Enzo (F144B) except for one CC. Up yours, neighbor! Ferrari would not divulge the top speed; "above 300" was the answer. Auto journalists took the GPS to 340(!) and only at 7,600 rpm does it deliver all 620 prancing horses, highlighted by the red flashing LEDs in your steering wheel: Time to change gears, Schumi!!!
And then again about the styling.... Forme, sensazione e tecnica: concentrati sull'emozione! No spoilers or wings, we leave that to the caps. Open C-pillars that act as spoilers, but look like a true work of art... All the lines flow into each other, fit together and give the 599 an exciting appearance. So graceful that it deserves some time to sink in. With a good barolo, in the mancave, next to the Rari.
